Let’s talk about music !

Do you play an instrument ? Can we listen to some of your traditional music  ?

None of us plays music, though music is very important here. If you come to Nepal, you will mostly here traditionnal music, inspired either by hinduist or buddhist religion, it’s everywhere in the streets and villages because of hinduist temples and buddhist stuppas everywhere. It’s different from a cast to another. Here you can see pictures of us (Prabha, Sagun Koc, Sajani, Susma, Roji) while a day when we danced in last september ! We trained and presented our dance to all the pupils of the school. This dance is a mix of traditionnal nepali music and indian dance.

And here are some schoolmates of the class 4. It’s a different dance. A very traditionnal nepali dance of Magar people, of tibeto-birman origin. You have to know that influences in Nepal come from two sides : Tibet and India. Nepal is the meeting of these two cultures. We are very tolerant people because there are a lot of different people in our country, with different religions.

And here are some nepali songs that are Magar !

AND YOU, DO YOU HAVE TRADITIONNAL MUSIC ? WHAT MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO ?

Traditional Breton music.
Breton music is the musical expression of Brittany.

History:
It is not possible to separate the Breton music from the history of “Bretagne”. Its survival has always been considered a sign of resistance. Thanks to this mobilization, Brittany has been able to keep its culture alive and authentic… so that today Brittany’s musical heritage is rich and varied. The strength of Breton music is to have evolved over time after assimilating different external inputs.
Chants:
The songs are very varied and of plural kinds. They accompany daily life, work rhythm, host events and popular festivals.
